Notice of Annual General Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the 2012 annual general meeting of the club will be held at the clubhouse on 10 February2011 at 18:30 for the following purposes:
1. To receive the report of the Chairperson and the accounts for the year ended 2011
2. To re-elect and appoint new committee for 2012 term.
3. To discuss proposals and vote for it.
- Should any member require a speaking opportunity or have any point for discussions you need to notify the Chairperson (Elize van Staden) in writing no later than Friday the 3th of February 2011.
- Members must please submit nominations for the committee in writing to the Chairperson (Elize van Staden) no later than Friday the 3th of February 2011 ( We currently need to replace the following people who have indicated that they are not available for this year – Mike Van Eck / Johan V Rooyen / Vija / Mark Theunissen)

A member entitled to attend and vote at the meeting is entitled to appoint a proxy in writing to vote, and attend, instead of him.
Dieter Zimmermann and the Selah project

In support of various AIDS Orphan care centres in Africa, the Selah Project is raising funds by sending an athlete to run from Cape Town in South Africa all the way to Cairo in Egypt while visiting the various beneficiaries on route. This gruesome 12,000km solo run through 9 countries will be attempted to raise international awareness for this cause.

I think it would be fair to say our members had a great day in Akasia. Well done to everyone who competed in the race.
We will publish the results once it is available.

Comrades stappers

Daar is verskeie stappers (race walkers) van ander klubs wat hierdie jaar die Comrades binne die 12 ure voltooi het. Van ons lede oorweeg die moontlikheid om die uitdaging aan te vat en om Comrades te "race walk" volgende jaar. Dit behels dat jy die afstand van 88km teen 8min p/km gemiddeld moet stap vir 'n tyd van 11h44. Dit veronderstel 'n pas van ongeveer 7min 30 sekondes (tot 8min) p/km op korter afstande. Dit sal dieselfde voorbereiding tov oefening, wedlope, long runs (walks) behels. As iemand belangstel om by so oefengroep betrokke te raak, kontak Marleen Havenga
